Kia Ora Tātou

Trust you all had a lovely break away from the norm over the holidays. This pic was our last wānanga last year 2024 with the Hoki group and who should turn up but little Boston looking so well. He’s the one I told you about who was asking how come his Mummy had a long turn (romiromi) and his Aunty had a long turn (romiromi) and he only had a short turn.

(p.s. I did this on purpose as it took so long for him to get used to me so I could work him lol).

Little Boston said ‘I want you to break my legs like you broke her, and to break my back like your broke hers and to break my stomach like you broke hers’. This was the best way he could explain the romiromi. Ngā mihi Boston.

Here are some pics of our session after our little boy calmed down. Remember?

First thing is doing the takutaku – old chants to shift and clear any energies in the body so I can go in to read the body.

When we put our feet to somebody else, we are connecting our power source to their power source and then I can do the intuitive diagnosis of the body. You all did this really well. Don’t have to be a rocket scientist to do this aye?

Some of you might remember what we were able to see in the body. The female side of the body is the left (spiritual) and is about your intuition, insights, passion and creativity. The male side is on the right (physical) is your strength, determination, courage and can be about your ability to take the lead.

The calf muscles show your childhood memories and the hamstrings are about your heart.

In this pic, I’m going in to work her gluteus muscles with my knees and this helps her back when it is sore. Do we remember the spiritual significance of a sore back? If you google ‘what is the spiritual significance of a sore back’, it comes up with this …

Emotional Stress: Chronic stress or emotional turmoil can manifest as back pain, suggesting a need to address unresolved feelings or conflicts. Life Burdens: The back symbolically carries life’s burdens. Pain might indicate feeling overwhelmed or unsupported in your responsibilities.

Remember how her butt was swollen and she knew who the male pain in the ass was, literally!

Regrets in the upper back area can be shifted here. You could use your hands as well but I use my feet. Try not to stand on somebody until you practice so as not to hurt your whaiora. Never stand on the backbone or you can do some harm. Using your hands is better for now till you get better at it. Best to practice on your own whanau first kare ma.

You can also help somebody’s sore back by sitting on them like this. Try not to plonk on them when you do this though as this hurts. Place yourself down carefully on them as other people’s bodies are tapu as are the memories that are sittting in the cellular memory of the body.

I’ve had to soften the muscles around the tailbone then put the tailbone back in as it was going down at the end. Some of you were able to touch this and see how it went down and how it was back up after this. This movement can also soften the muscles next to the tailbone.

After softening the muscles around the tailbone then I was able to put the tailbone back in as it was going down at the end. What does this show? You guessed right. It was about being frightened about something. Some of you were able to touch this and see how it went down and how it was back up after this.

Sometimes its better to do this movement if the tailbone won’t shift but please don’t try this at home or you might pull your own back out without knowing how to do this move.

Remember the master point for depression?

This one is very good for addictions. Be gentle. The female way of romiromi is to work with them where your mahi is deep but gentle, working to the pain tolerance of the person. The male way of romiromi is to work on them, not telling them what you’re doing or why. The male way is to work hard and fast. This was me years ago but then our Ngāti Kuri Tohunga Romiromi Atarangi Muru taught me the female way of romiromi and I’ve never looked back since.

Important to hongihongi everybody who was present when you are having romiromi as they each come with their ancestors to support your healing session.

This is the spoken evaluation we recorded on the phone. Lovely to hear all your voices again!

Wānanga Content

You’ll see the process of romiromi here; Mirimiri – spiritual manipulation of energy, Taa Miri – intuitive diagnosis, Koo Miri – the takutaku chants to shift and clear the energies, and romiromi – deep spiritual releasing of memories sitting in the body and an alignment of the bones thereafter.

Puku Riri sits at the base of the tummy area and is where we hold those strong emotions; jealousy, hatred, resentment, and rage.

Tiwawe is where we shake the body so the water can clean the organs. Not ok to do this to a baby but a toddler is fine especially when they might be getting a bit mauiui so the body can clean itself with the movement of the waters within.

See the different meanings of body parts as taught by our Tohunga on the board. This is how we figure out what the body is trying to communicate to us. If its sore or feels funny, its trying to show you.

The app content is geared up to support with the retention of knowledge as traditional Maori healing can be really complex in theory but it is really simple in practice. Once you get it, it  is more like a ‘way of living’ rather than a healing modality we do when we are unwell. Connecting back with your body is important so you can hear how it is communicating with you.

When we are under stress, sometimes we leave the body, especially when we are sad and I did this often when I was going through hard times when I was younger. I am more aware of when I am doing this nowadays and go and ground myself by walking barefeet on Papatuanuku, on the beach, doing gardening and drinking water.

Papa De La Mere used to say H20 whanau, that’s the magic healer to help clean your body. Without water, your organs get stagnant and paru.

When people come to me and are sick, this is the first thing I ask them. How much water do you drink?

Some don’t drink anything at all and that’s why they are full of disease and on heaps of medication because their body is paru as.

Yet no sweat to stay in the shower for 15 mins or longer where you might use 30 litres of water and this is just for the outside whereas the inside has organs like the kidneys working all the time and the liver, the heart, the brain, the lungs, the pancreas, the eyes, your mouth, the digestive system, your waterworks, your colon where you poo. Get the picture? Must drink up to 4-5 litres a day to clean your body.

I get water bottles from the supermarket and have them in different places at home so I have no excuse not to drink water. Take a look at this article I wrote about drinking water.

THE BENEFITS OF DRINKING WATER

There are 3 processes the body goes through in 24 hours.

  1. During the day the body is feeding
  2. At night the body is processing the food sending the vitamins and minerals to different parts of the body
  3. In the morning, the body is searching for water to clean itself

In order to support the different body systems in the body, it is vital to clean the body on the inside every day.

Have a think about how many litres of water you use to clean the body on the outside when you have a shower? Similarly, we need more than just a cup or a few glasses to clean the body and drinking at the right time ensures that you are working with the body’s systems instead of against them.

THE MOST IMPORTANT TIME TO DRINK WATER IS IN THE MORNING

  1. In the morning before eating or drinking anything, drink 2 litres of warm to hot water

The temperature of the water is so the body doesn’t have to heat the water up before using it to clean itself.  It shocks the body if you drink cold water in the morning then all the energy goes into heating the body before it can use it to clean itself. After the two litres, you will find that you cannot help but go to the toilet to poo. This process is about cleaning the colon naturally.

DON’T ADD ANYTHING TO THE DRINKING WATER

If you drink water with food then the body will digest the water instead of using it to clean itself.

If you add anything to the water to make it tastes better like lemon or a tea bag then the body will digest the water instead of using it to clean itself.

WATER ONLY with nothing in it so the body can use it to clean itself.

If we drink coffee first thing in the morning it will kill all the vitamins and minerals. As coffee is a diuretic, it will make your body piss out two cups of water. So, if we drink a litre of water a day then 2 cups of coffee then the body will piss out the litre and then our body is in a state of chronic dehydration which means our body is acidic. If we continue to drink coffee all day and no water then the body will be paru inside and the body systems will struggle to clean itself resulting in an acidic body that will struggle with a number of diseases.

DRINKING WATER AFTER LUNCH

  1. An hour after eating lunch, drink another litre of warm to hot water

This will be the third litre of water. Be mindful that drinking this much water will make you pee a lot but this is how the body cleans itself so get used to it. The kidneys are known to  shrivel up and die if you continue to not drink water and then the kidneys have to be removed surgically. Once this happens, then you can have problems with controlling your bladder for the rest of your life when all you had to do to support your kidneys is drink water. Those who refuse to drink water long term, end up on a dialysis machine for the rest of their life. It’s a choice to drink water as a way of living to keep the body alkaline.

If we want an alkaline body where ‘disease cannot survive in the body’ then drink water and eat green vegetables.

If we want an acidic body where ‘disease thrives in the body’ then don’t drink water and don’t eat vegetables.

DRINKING WATER AFTER DINNER

  1. An hour after dinner, drink another litre of warm to hot water

Find a way that works for you. At 63 years old, I’m on no medication. I take bottles of water to bed at night.

  1. Sometimes I drink two bottles of water in the afternoon if I have not had time to drink much water during the day. I do not always get the opportunity to eat lunch until I finish work but I always have my water bottles ready

DO NOT DRINK WATER WHILE YOU ARE EATING

If you drink water while eating, you are watering down the acids that help to digest the food so it takes longer for the food to be digested. The water is not used for cleaning the body when anything is added to it as it is digested instead.

DRINKING SWEET FIZZY DRINKS

Drinks with sugar in them defeats the purpose of cleaning the body. Sugar is poison and can stop the immune system from working. It can also create inflammation in the body which in turn creates pain. If you have been suffering from pain for many years, then stop having any of the foods that are laden with sugar. There are a number of natural sugar alternatives like monk fruit, xylitol, erythitol, sativa and nativa to name but a few and these are available at your local health shops or supermarkets.

Drinking energy drinks with 7 teaspoons of sugar in each can stop your immune system from working for the rest of the week and affect your heart. Although it speeds you up, you can come crashing down later resulting in a number of emotional and behavioral problems. One of the ingredients in energy drinks is caffeine and 1 teaspoon can make your body piss out 1 – 5 cups of water leaving your body dehydrated and acidic. I get sugar free energy drinks sometimes but only drink a little bit of the can at a time, not the whole can but that’s just me!

ACID BODY versus an ALKALINE BODY

DISEASE will thrive in an acidic body.

This is about long cooked foods, no water, no raw vegetables or fruit and eating lots of sugar, coffee, pork, beef, lamb, sugar laden energy drinks and fizzies as well as sugar laden alcohol. Parasites thrive in an acidic body.

DISEASE cannot survive in an alkaline body

This is about drinking water, eating raw food, and preferably being sugar free, no coffee, little or no red meat, limited amounts of dairy as it creates mucus.

That’s us for now. See you all soon!
