TRADITIONAL MĀORI HEALING APPROACH

Traditional Māori healing can be life-changing for those seeking wellness and deeper understanding of themselves.

Charlotte works with the body, mind and wairua to help identify underlying patterns, experiences and stresses that may be affecting a person’s wellbeing. Many people live in “automatic pilot,” repeating the same emotional, physical or spiritual patterns without realising how these experiences may be impacting their lives.

Through healing sessions, clients are supported to become more aware of what they are focusing on consciously and unconsciously, and how those patterns may be shaping their wellbeing.

The philosophy behind this work is:

“What you focus on is what you manifest in your life.”

Once awareness is reached, change becomes possible.

Dr Charlotte Mildon also supports clients with:

  • Appropriate kai and nutrition for their mauiui
  • Hydration and body cleansing support
  • Rongoā rākau
  • Balms and natural wellness products
  • Health supplements where appropriate

Depending on your condition and medications, Charlotte may recommend natural supports to help maintain overall wellbeing.

Your mauiui can become your own healing wānanga — an opportunity to learn more deeply about your body, your lifestyle and your healing journey.

If you are ready, Charlotte can also support you to:

  • Care for and nurture your body
  • Feed and strengthen your wairua
  • Become more conscious of how you are living your life
  • Reconnect with Papatūānuku and the healing knowledge found within te taiao

When people learn ways to support their own healing, they begin reclaiming their own healing power and can also strengthen the wellbeing of their whānau.

Many report becoming more aware of their own natural healing abilities through online healing sessions or romiromi sessions, without years of workshops, counselling or reliance solely on prescribed medications.

The Founder of Te Oomai Reia Romiromi

Papa Hohepa De La Mere

The late Hohepa De La Mere was the founder of Te Oomai Reia Romiromi. It was such an honour to be invited to learn romiromi under his guidance as a Tohunga Ahurewa; a priest of a higher order descended from Te Whānau-ā-Apanui.

Te Oomai Reia Romiromi is a healing process and in some cases, practitioners use their elbows, knees, feet, greenstone, wood and sea water to clear and open blocked energy points in the body. In my experience whilst studying with Papa De La Mere, the transformations seen in romiromi was life changing. Hence this work is very sacred to our culture.

The foundation of this work that is based on the philosophy of traditional Māori Healing Te Oomai-Reia Romiromi.  Mirimiri, Koo Miri, and Taa Miri are an integral part of Te Oomai Reia Romiromi.  You do not have to touch a person or even be in close proximity to do mirimiri, koo miri or taa miri so it is perfect for working with people who wish to do their healing online, either one on one, or in an online group setting.

Mirimiri

Mirimiri is the spiritual manipulation of energy to help clear emotional, physical, psychological and generational pain held within the body. It works to release energies that may block healing and restore balance within the tinana and wairua.

Koo Miri

Koo Miri uses traditional chants, vibration and intuitive healing to support emotional and spiritual release. Through sound, nature and spiritual connection, it helps the whaiora explore deeper emotional experiences connected to physical or psychological distress.

Taa Miri

Taa Miri is the intuitive reading of the body and spiritual aura. It involves listening to the body to identify trauma, emotional pain, imbalance and blocked energies that may be affecting wellbeing physically, emotionally or spiritually.

Romiromi

It can take decades of practice to become a romiromi practitioner due to the deep metaphysical philosophies that are relatively complex in thought but incredible in action. Romiromi is a sacred traditional healing practice that may include the use of hands, elbows, knees, feet, kōhatu, rākau and moana elements to release blocked energy and restore flow within the body.

This healing philosophy also supports:

  • Reconnecting with Papatūānuku and te taiao
  • Hydration and healing through kai
  • Natural remedies and Rongoā Māori
  • Clearing emotional and spiritual blockages
  • Supporting the body to heal and function at its optimal potential

Many people choose this work to deepen self-awareness, strengthen their wairua and reclaim their own healing journey in a holistic and culturally grounded way.

Testimonials 2025 – 2026

From my healing sessions with Charlotte, it was the first time I’ve had relief from my back for a long time. I got a rakau from the beach as she recommended and have been using it. Trying to change my diet and drinking water even though its not that easy. I realised that I have created an illusion around my childhood memories with my parents. Still got work to do to manage the ongoing pain better in my lower back which affects my everyday living.

My goal in working with Charlotte was to live pain free.  I can certainly tell the difference after a session. Makes me feel better able to handle my 12 hour shifts at work. I can turn my neck when I swim now. I can use my arms and shoulders without so much pain after a mirimiri and romiromi session with Charlotte

My goals working with Charlotte were to be pain-free physically and emotionally and to improve resilience. I have come to realise that the full benefit of mirimiri for me was not only helping improve my physical wellbeing and giving relief to the pain in my back, but also the treatment of the mamae and trauma of my past and giving me tools to use going forward to help strengthen my mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.  From a Te Whare Tapa Wha perspective, these sessions are very effective for restoring balance and therefore my overall wellbeing. It provided a connection with my physical, social and spiritual elements, enhancing my ability for wellness. It also gave me exceptional learnings and learning opportunities.

The first time I walked out from a session with Charlotte, I swear my feet never touched the ground for an hour and I felt weightlessness over my whole body. Effectively in that one session the pain and emotional load I have been carrying all my life was lifted and for once I felt free. I cannot thank her enough nor explain what this means to me. Spiritual healing through Rongoā has allowed me to know and feel my place and accept that I am the right person to protect the whakapapa on behalf of my whānau. Physically speaking, Rongoā has drastically reduced my body’s tension and muscle tightness which has in the past been attributed to migraine headaches and stomach upsets. My general mobility has improved, and I feel my body has found its “balance”
On my first visit to Charlotte, I was suffering with an acute Lumbar sprain to my right lower back, coupled with bad Sciatica to my right leg. I was bent over about 75% and could not stand erect and limping. After seeing the health professionals prior to Rongoa, I had no outcomes and was ready to travel back to Australia to my massage therapist there. I just wanted to live without the pain as it was debilitating. My medical Dr said this could take up to eighteen months to get better. However, after 10 sessions, I was able to lay on my back again for the first time in years.  I have colour in my face again and managing my lawns and gardens better now   I’m not so crooked like I used to be as I didn’t realise that my right butt has been sticking up for a long time now   I am walking better than I was even though I am in my seventies now.

Dr. Charlotte has definitely helped me with my shoulder and made improvements in a short time. I have tried many other ACC PROVIDERS for other injuries and only Dr Charlotte Mildon of AIO Healing could give me the use of my arm back. My goals for working with her were to regain strength, mobility, and flexibility in my right shoulder.

Dr Charlotte has been instrumental in my healing process. The work she has done with me has helped me begin to process and release decades-old trauma that was significantly affecting my wellbeing and making me feel physically and emotionally unwell. Through our sessions I have started to develop greater self-understanding, compassion for myself, and the ability to recognise unhealthy relational patterns.
Her support has helped me stabilise during an incredibly difficult period of my life and has been a crucial part of helping me learn how to care for myself and move toward recovery. My goals were to become mentally and emotionally well so that I can live a stable life and one day be of service to others. I am also working toward learning how to give and receive healthy love, develop self-acceptance, and build safe, healthy relationships. My sessions with Charlotte allow me to continue consolidating the progress that has begun and to safely work through the remaining trauma that still affects my functioning and relationships. Continuing this work is important for my long-term recovery, emotional stability, and ability to build healthy connections with others.

My goals of working with Charlotte was to be able to walk without pain anymore. I’ve learned that I have to drink enough water to hydrate my body and cut down on certain foods to help my immune system. Not as much pain when I cut down on sugar foods. The colour of my leg is so much lighter now as it was real dark for years before having rongoā sessions. with Charlotte. I’m still learning how not to overdo it with the work at home on the farm.

My Rongoa sessions with Charlotte have been amazing. My goals working with Charlotte were to be settled and well after being in constant pain in my arm for the last few years after an injury caused by a police man and feeling sick as well as feeling all over the place emotionally. After 2 years of pain in my arm not being able to use it properly, Charlotte worked it and my arm could go up again. It was mind blowing not having to rely on pain relief like paracetamol with codeine, tramadol, ibuprofen, wheat bags hot water bottles and ice packs. It was so upsetting that I couldn’t sleep all that time with the pain. No more!

I wasn’t able to get up and walk when I arrived to see Charlotte. Wasn’t sure why I was on the ground and couldn’t get up after I got out of the taxi with the taxi driver. I come in here limping and go out feeling so much better. Thank you! (ED)

Dr Charlotte Mildon has shown me ways to improve my lifestyle. My whānau have noticed changes in my hand, including the lighter colour in my fingers, and also changes in my tinana, where I now have more movement than when I first started seeing her. Through the AIO Healing sessions, Dr Charlotte Mildon has helped me learn simple ways to manage my medications, exercise, and natural remedies that are affordable and support not only my hand, but also the other injuries connected to my accident and fall (MM)

I was only seeing Dr Charlotte Milden for my left hand at first but every time l went for my sessions, she noticed  other pain coming from other parts of my body, like my hip was out and my gait for walking was crooked. Dr Mildon could see it physically and yet my medical Dr, missed it which caused contention between us, but Dr Mildon showed me how to get over my anger and frustration and deal with it in a more professional manner. My medical Dr has now come on board and has sent documents in to ACC, only we don’t get any answer from the Recovery Coordinator as there was no replacement for him for weeks. I felt abandoned. Dr Mildon is the only one that actually gets in there and shows me how and what to do to heal myself until I am more capable to doing this on my own. (MM)

Charlotte has helped me find ways to make small improvements step by step. I was living in a very acidic body when we met and now my testing strips show I have been alkaline in December and January. I have released 7.8kg and learnt how to support my liver and kidneys and improved my nutritional intake. I would like to continue learning from Charlotte as I reclaim my health. (JM)

I work my body pretty hard with my landscaping business so my goals are to be able to manage my injuries better and be pain free. That worked really well as after my romiromi, it took me a few days to come right but it made such a difference afterwardsI have found Charlotte’s consultations very beneficial in relieving the pain in my left entire left side not just my calve muscles. It is freeing up the restricted movement in my neck and shoulder as well as well as improving my overall wellbeing. (CM)

My injury left me immobile regularly over the last 3 months which has been painful, extremely isolating and depressing. I wanted to find ways to make small improvements step by step. Working with Charlotte has been a very empowering experience. She has helped me see my body holistically. Her Rongoa knowledge introduced me to kawakawa and the healing properties. I am learning a whole new way of living. I am learning about the cleaning cycle my body does each morning, how to hydrate it and nourish it.

My goal of working with Dr Charlotte Mildon was always aimed at the improvement of my physical healing from a Māori perspective. Our discussions on diets, and spiritual awareness, were very interesting, but the most empowering of all was getting me to accept that in the end, I myself can learn how to be responsible for my own health and wellbeing. We cover a wide range of subjects, such as life traumas or incidents that can shape your life, long time stress that can affect your wellbeing, and understanding the importance of learning to love the self and, to be positive and throw away any negativity. I love being able to walk out of Charlotte’s work venue and walk out to my car without a stick or a walker and want to be able to do this all the time. (SS)

I’ve been coming to these wānanga since the start of the series in 2023. For me at the time I was going through a lot. I nearly got killed at work and that took me to being clinically diagnosed with PTSD. Coming here has been really helpful for that, and after that diagnosis I nearly got killed again from work. So, something was telling me to leave the place and I wasn’t listening. But I finally left and it’s been 8 months. Working with Dr Charlotte Mildon helps me stay balanced even though I still get unbalanced, it feels like you get a romi in wānanga and out of wānanga. It is like a romiromi that never ends lol but it’s all good because it’s all about growth. I feel there’s always progress from each wānanga, sometimes, every day is a struggle. It’s not easy learning how to drink the water, like, once you learn how to drown yourself a few times, you then have to learn how to keep going. My goals are just to stay on the waka, keep improving, growing and learning so what I learn I can give back to my whānau. (LH)

From my first wānanga with Whaea Charlotte, I was talking about going to the doctors and get all our bloods checked. I did it a couple weeks ago and discovered I have high blood pressure and thought thank goodness I’m in the right space to learn how to sort that out without using medication. So, I’m really grateful and hope that through my actions if my whanau see’s what I’m doing well they might want to learn as well. I’ve learned so much and I’ve taken away the awareness of knowing that I know what to do, this has motivated me to implement it. I’ve made changes and doing good things that I have been improving and I can feel it. (M)

This is number six wānanga, I’ve stopped smelling the coffee, like many of you, busy with mahi day to day stuff, I need to look after my tinana, my wairua, nurture them and the hinengaro so I can do that here in a safe space. I do have anxiety but these wananga are a safe place for you to be you. I want to learn via Whaea Charlotte and her wonderful roopu. What my tipuna used to do back in te ra, eating well, being present and I’ve got to do those things to keep up with sick mokopuna. Kia ora. (MD)

I came to continue my journey from working with Dr Charlotte Mildon furthering my knowledge of self-discovery and healing. I’ve made heaps of progress attending this wānanga, diet for one, water, cutting out sugar, self-discovery understanding and connection too. It’s special to me to connect to everybody.  I’m glad to be here and excited to continue attending. (S

The last wā was so uplifting, you know you how you’re not stuck but you just like to grow. The goal was set a couple of days ago with doing the baking and the sugar free, dairy free and gluten free stuff and I kinda giggled when I was doing that because I didn’t know if I was going to eat it but actually when I tasted it after baking it, it tasted quite nice and that made me think I can do this, so that’s my goal for this wā is to follow through with that and drink more water and be present here in the learning. I’ve got lots of goals from being here. Progress, learning then implementing that in the way that you move, for me I always feel huge, like a totara way above the ngahere and reflecting or acknowledging that I am a little seedling that just happened to catch a ray of sunlight, so I feel I have made a little bit of progress and I want to learn more. (F

I’ve been working with Charlotte and thereafter coming to wānanga for two years now. I’ve been hooked since day one, it has been incredibly life changing, my growth and progress in the last couple of years has been so painful, its hell, raw, ugly but using the tools I’ve learned … has been incredibly helpful and I’ve gotten through all of that. Yea being here is quite addictive, you meet so many good people, like minded and being able to be comfortable to share your the parts of you don’t want to show the rest of the world and being in a space like this is really really important to have and I’m really grateful for that. My goals for this wānanga is just to continue on that learning journey, hauora and growing. (KP)

I really enjoyed … the last wānanga, which it was fantastic. I loved the kai as well love being at (the marae) and I’m excited to meet everyone that I haven’t met yet and to reinforce the whakawhānaungatanga with the ones I have met.

I met Charlotte in 2021, when I met her I was like a starfish on a bed and 157kg and I’m down to 106kg now, I still have at least another 20kg to go to try to save my hip. Things are really challenging … but I’ve learned how to be more tech savvy and have a lot of help from my mokos. It’s been a lovely journey for me. (RM)

I have been coming to wānanga (with Dr Charlotte Mildon) for a few years now and then I stopped for a bit, life got in the way and I isolated myself to long, then I came to the realisation that I should come back. Since being back it has absolutely changed my life. I’ve changed my diet, changed  mentally, physically and looking after my hauora. I just want to keep working on that and supporting new ones coming along and sharing my journey along with yours to help make things easier and safer for us. I’ve got osteo arthritis in my hips and back. I was using crouches to get around, I suffered with a lot of pain, I was on a lot of medications. I no longer take a lot of medications, I do this naturally and I have no pain, I take vitamins, changed my diet and water intake. I can now walk anywhere unaided, I’m not in pain, I can sleep at night. It’s had a massive life change for me. Now my tamariki are slowly changing because I have myself in a good place to be able to work on my tamariki who has now been diagnosed with ADHD so I’m going to go the natural way in dealing with that for her, to help her grow up and this is the perfect space for us to do that to figure out what works. (TE)

Testimonials 2023 – 2024

I dont want to sound like a groupie but I feel like I am now bc my life has changed so much and I didn’t see it until my kids son n nieces were pointing out how much Ive changed. I’m less whiney, more shiny, less dark, more transparent. I’m like, oh really. Yeh yes I am those things and more and my past journal entries confirm it. I am improved. And I have you to thank so much for pulling me out of the wilderness and into the light. I owe you so much Charlotte. You are the best thing to happen to me.
Thank you.

Here are some comments about my work in romiromi, online healing sessions, wananga and cultural supervision:

I had been complaining of pain in my stomach for 17 years after the birth of her son. On Tramadol and Morphine. Booked in for colonoscopy to check for cancer as bleeding existed. A spiritual diagnosis showed abuse at the core when younger so bought that to the surface to identify underlying unforgiveness. Consultation with Tohunga showed that there was still afterbirth in the womb which was causing the bleeding and the pain as it is toxic.  3 weeks later, no pain. No medications. Bleeding has stopped. I have had to learn how to care for myself as you were right, I look after everybody else, so I don’t have to care for myself.  After you told me I was addicted to the Tramadol and Morphine Charlotte, I stopped it straight away but felt sick. Didn’t know I was addicted to it. I am off it now though.  After all this mahi, I stopped bleeding and after 17 years of pain, now I have NO pain!

The personal positive outcomes after attendance are invaluable!!! I had hit rock bottom, my life felt as though it was crumbling around me and I was overwhelmed, sad & scared- I have now learnt new tools to help me on those days that are not so great, I am now able to access a part of myself that I thought was closed, I can now comfortably and confidently look at situations/experiences through a different lens in which I am grateful for all life experiences as every experience has had some form of learning that has helped me, the key was too “honestly” look at the experience. I now feel more confident, happy, safe, strong, at peace and truly starting to love myself 🙂

Charlotte, you are a fantastic facilitator, there was not a minute when I thought aue- this is “boring” you were able to completely capture my attention with your style of presenting, intelligent, knowledgable, engaging, humorous and I loved the opportunities to network with other participants/ who are now my “Sistas for life” thank you for allowing me to be involved in something bigger then myself and my little world, lol. I am excited about the next Romiromi wananga, it already has been a life changing experience for me, I am excited about the future now I am looking through eyes with more clarity. Tena koe ehoa- pai toa ra xxxxx

Mōrena Charlotte

Just want to say thank you for the passion and drive you have to see our people well.

The rongoa you recommended for joint pain is a God send for my knees and my wairua. I have been blessed to overflowing and it has taken me to another lease of life which was stolen from me over 30 plus years ago.

I’ve lived with the ugly pain in my both knees where there was no longer any cushioning left between the socket joints which led to bone on bone n on top of that osteoarthritis. I was scheduled to see an orthopedic for an assessment this month but my attitude has always been, ‘if I could find another alternative rather than knee surgery and it works, that’s the road I’m going down’. Well today is the end of this month and this month I’ve been blessed to find the alternative, thanks to My Lord and to you. It’s been 5 days on the rongoa, x1 every morning I rub on both knees n in that 5 days I’ve not once complained or had to endure pain. I Just had to let you Know. Ka nui te Aroha x

‘I attended my first ever Maori healing/Romiromi wananga with Charlotte. A few key words – Amazing, Invaluable, thought provoking, challenged past beliefs, Inspirational, Healing, Powerful… from a professional perspective I have worked within the western medical field for 12+yrs via a local DHB in which I thoroughly enjoy but I always felt as though there was a “gap” for our whanau Tangata whenua.

Morena Charlotte. l’ve had this pain in my knee for years. I walked out from seeing you with no pain. Unbelievable. I’ve never felt this perfect for such a long time. Thank you again 🙏

Anytime I have a health issue, I post it up on facebook and a few of my friends will make suggestions. An old friend, Charlotte reached out and offered me a healing session. I agreed to do an online session and it was truly a great experience. Charlotte had a gentle way of helping me to understand how our body internalizes early trauma and the lockdown was a catalyst for a lot of the anxiety I was experiencing. Hence everything was blocked up.

Since having the session I have been more grounded and calmer. I followed her advice around my diet, appreciating my body for what it does for me and have been remembering to breathe deeply. I was also having counselling sessions that my GP prescribed. Those were helpful but I shared with the counsellor that my session with Charlotte had been really amazing and I have immediately noticed changes in how I am reacting to things that trigger me. The Coyote spirit came through in the session and a day later I picked up a book at the local cafe called ‘The Trickster’ This was confirmation for me. Thank you Charlotte for your amazing healing session.

I have been a massage therapist for many years Charlotte. I would have to say that session was just the best I have ever had. Wow! —Carly. Hastings

Thank you so much for my amazing massage treatment you gave me on Wednesday afternoon. I feel so much better. A lot lighter and not in so much pain. Kate A. Hastings

When I came to you Charlotte, my pain level was at an 8. After one session with you, my pain level went down to a 5 and stayed like that for 5 days. I had been having this pain for a long time and I was seeing an accupunturist, massage therapy and laser treatment each week. With each of these services, the pain came back after a few hours. I am so very grateful for the recipes of spices and health supplements that help me and for the deep bodywork that has rebalanced my body again. Now my pain level is at a 4. The rongoa you shared with me has helped me to sleep, something that has been a luxury for me over the last few years. Such a difference. Thank you so much. Hazel. Hastings.

Your cultural supervision is the best supervision I have every had and I’ve had clinical supervision for over ten years at my work. Wow!  Sandra. Hastings.

I’m feeling really great after our session – took a couple of days for my body to adjust and return to softness. Internally, I feel a part of me is no longer wounded, but ready and available, so thank you for being the vessel to help me release unwanted energies. Lisa. Napier

Wow! What can I say? I didn’t know I was so heavy. I don’t even know why I was crying. Such a huge release. I feel so light. Les. Napier

Amazing Charlotte. No more pain. Thank you so much!  Amy. Hastings

I just wanted to thank …  Charlotte as my cultural supervisor,  I didnt realise how unwell I was once I started to open up and off load what I have been carrying.  After having my second session with Charlotte … I felt a huge weight come off me and the professional manner in which my session was with Charlotte was excellent.  I felt my mana had been restored and I was able to hold my head high again regardless of my physical ailments as it corrected this area too, in many ways. C. C.

I’m in good holistic health now and I feel much better all round.  I do give thanks every day that the universe brought you into my life and opened up a whole new way of managing my health and wellbeing.  Tino nui rawa atu nga mihi ki a koe mo tou kaha, aroha, tautoko i runga i te oranga o te iwi.”  Ani W. I first met Charlotte in 2004 when I was working at Awhina Whanau Services, a kaupapa Maori counselling service based in Hastings. She would travel weekly from Wairoa to attend our services where she provided mirimiri/romiromi and massage to staff and whaiora. This was something that the staff looked forward to as part of our self-care and healing. Having Charlotte available to provide healing for whaiora and staff was very valuable in assisting with taha wairua, taha tinana, taha hinengaro and taha whanau.  I had regular weekly mirimiri and or romiromi for over a period of months where she assisted me with my own healing journey. Charlotte is very skilled, professional and has a great sense of humour with an in depth knowledge of traditional Maori healing. She has expertise which is rare in this day and age. I have been privileged to wananga with Charlotte who was and is very generous in sharing her knowledge. Barbara N. Psychotherapist.

I have known Charlotte for about 12 years or so, primarily through her mahi / work in healing massage or mirimiri, but also as a friend.  She deals with her mahi in a holistic manner, informing people as to the importance of breathing, natural nutrition, exercise, environment, stress management, etc., on the optimum well-being of all people by way of a newsletter, including those with whom she works.  Charlotte’s actual mirimiri mahi is surprisingly effective beyond the actual physical benefits and encompasses spiritual healing in a down-to-earth manner as well.  Over the years, I have seen Charlotte do her mahi in a variety of places eg. in homes, on marae, at health hui, as part of health conferences including international indigenous health conferences, etc.  I am pleased to write this letter of reference for Charlotte.  Christine Te Ariki. I am writing in support of Charlotte Mildon’s service with traditional Maori healing. WIT (Whatever It Takes) is the largest mental health service provider outside hospital services in Hawke’s Bay. Our service has more than 200 clients, 68 percent of whom are Maori. Over the years we have used innovative models to deliver services and in 2007 were awarded the Australasian Housing Institute’s annual award for innovation in support solutions.

We used Charlotte Mildon’s services for a range of issues while Charlotte was practising in Hawke’s Bay. Our staff used Charlotte’s mirimiri for supervision and clients used her services for healing. We also referred people externally from our service.

We still talk of some results from Charlotte’s work that were quite remarkable. In one instance, a client who had used intensive inpatient services for decades was able to resolve issues round sexual abuse. The client was using intensive resources with many organisations. After Charlotte’s treatments, the woman moved completely away from mental health services and has been stable since. Interestingly, she was not Maori, which gives evidence Charlotte’s treatments are cross-cultural.

Our staff also reported major benefits from the mirimiri that linked to traditional Maori concepts such as wairua. I do not hesitate in recommending Charlotte’s services and hold hope that most mental health services will offer mirimiri in the future as an adjunct to traditional clinical services. Doug Banks. “Charlotte, your professionalism and ethical methods when
dealing with clients are exemplary in every way.”

I have worked with Charlotte Mildon on many occasions over the years, particularly during our wananga time with our Elder and Tohunga, Hohepa De La Mere or Papa Joe as he was fondly known.  For the past 16 years I have journeyed the world teaching our traditional healing arts and holding one on one body work sessions with people. I was inspired to ask Charlotte to travel with us (myself and my son Terence) and share her work as well. The reason for this, was that I saw the levels of excellence she had in her work. There was a pride (without ego), and a joy (from the heart) to serve and honour people in their body work thus aiding their healing. An ability to make people feel welcome is a trait that many Maori have and do automatically. I had full trust in her ability and delivery of our traditional healing arts. Atarangi Muru.
